Commingled Recycling

Please recycle - we want to divert as much trash from our landfills as possible and help you earn valuable rewards through RecycleBank.

As of July, 2009, we are collecting commingled recycling for disposal. 

Acceptable Items include:

    1. Newspapers and inserts

    2. Cardboard

    3. Magazines & catalogs

    4. Junk mail and envelopes

    5. Office and school papers

    6. Brown paper bags

    7. Aluminum cans (rinsed)

    8. Tin & steel cans (rinsed)

    9. Glass jars and bottles (all colors)

    10. Plastic milk jugs

    11. Plastic bottles (detergent bottles too)

    12. Plastic containers (#1-7 - Except #6)

    13. Phone books

    14. Paper back books

  1. Unacceptable Items:

    1. Glass Windows

    2. Light bulbs

    3. Aluminum Foil

    4. Dinnerware or ceramics

    5. Soiled or dirty containers

    6. Food waste or food tainted items (used paper plates, paper towels or napkins)

    7. Motor oil or filters

    8. Insecticides or herbicides

    9. Hazardous chemical containers

    10. Plastic trashcan liners or bags

    11. Plastic wrapping film

    12. Styrofoam containers or peanuts

    13. Egg cartons/waxy milk cartons

    14. Waxy cardboard (juice boxes or bags)

    15. Hard cover books

    16. Metal clips, spirals or binders

    17. Dirt, Wood Chips, Logs

    18. #6 Plastic (Polystyrene or Styrofoam)

    19. Construction materials

    20. Bales of straw or hay

    21. Paint (not acceptable in trash or recycling - can be disposed, free of charge at Foxhole Recycling Center and Yard Waste - 17131 Lancaster Highway, Charlotte, N.C.)
