About Your Service

Rules of Service:
Your trash service provides either once or twice weekly residential trash service pick-up (depending upon your chosen plan) for your household only. It does not include commercial trash (even if you work from your home), construction debris, yard debris (grass clippings or leaves), wood or large items. It is impermissible to permit another household to use your trash service for disposal of their refuse. This is considered theft of services and is a breach of the contract terms. It is a violation of North and South Carolina law to dispose of yard waste with regular household trash.

The amount of trash you may place out for pick-up is limited to the trash that fits within your cart or carts (if you purchased a second cart from GBUSA, Inc.). You may purchase a second cart for service from GBUSA, Inc. The use of other companies carts for pick-up is not permitted. After you have received our cart for service, that is the only container acceptable for pick-up by our drivers.
The collection of extra trash from customers (that which does not fit within your cart) is limited to the discretion of GBUSA, Inc. We will make every effort to collect additional trash but this service is not in any way guaranteed.

Your contract term begins on the first day of a quarter (January 1, April 1, July 1 or October 1) and continues until the end of that quarter. Payments for billings are due on the first day a quarter begins. Should you for any reason cancel service at any time during a quarterly billing cycle, a $10 pick-up fee and $15 cleaning fee will be assessed to pick-up and clean your cart. This fee is, unfortunately, required to cover the cost of picking up a cart, cleaning and re-stocking it for re-use. Should we be forced to resort to litigation to collect past due balances, customers agree to reimburse GBUSA, Inc. for any and all costs associated with said collection including but not limited to attorney's fees.
There is one recycling pick-up day per week per neighborhood.
Trash must be out for collection by 7 a.m. to ensure pick-up on any given day.

What are my trash pick-up days?
Generally speaking, if you live in a neighborhood West of Providence Road, your trash pick-up days are Monday and Thursday (with Monday being your recycling day). Exceptions to this rule are neighborhoods located off or near Waxhaw/Marvin Road. If you live in this area please call or e-mail us for specific days of service.
If you live in a neighborhood East of Providence Road, your trash pick-up days are Tuesday and Friday (with Tuesday being your recycling day).
Sun City Customers have trash collection on a Monday and Thursday or a Tuesday and Friday schedule.
Holiday collections coincide with the Union County Landfill schedule. If we can not dump the trash - we can not collect it. The back of your invoice will delineate any deviation in collection for the upcoming quarter.

What Trash is Acceptable?
GBUSA, Inc. will pick up bagged, household garbage only that fits within your supplied roll out can.
If you need a second roll out can, one will be provided at a one time charge of $75. So long as you have two time per week service, there will be no additional charge for placing the second roll-out cart out for collection. Otherwise, it is not permissible to place a second can out for pick-up. These will not be collected. If prior arrangements are made, we will collect second roll outs at a charge of $4 per collection. Any customer who is found to be using their residential trash collection service for an off-premises business or permitting a neighbor to "share" their trash service shall be terminated as a customer with a loss of the remaining contract fees. We are willing to be more than reasonable, please do not abuse our services.
We will not pick up yard waste, any rocks, any dirt, any concrete, any construction debris or tree clippings. Unfortunately, we are finding more and more of these items in containers. They are unacceptable for disposal at the landfill and if they are present in your cart, the entire cart can not be collected. Please ensure that these items are not in your cart.
Boxes: We will take all you have - if more than 20 please give us a call as a courtesy so we can arrange the right truck to come to your home.
North Carolina State Law prohibits the disposal of Yard Waste (including grass clippings) into a landfill. This violation of law is punishable by a civil fine of up to $5,000 per day for for each violation. Read
North Carolina Statute Chapter 130A-309.10 (f)(3).
As a result of this law - we are unable to collect yard waste and/or grass clippings with normal trash pick-up.
