What Do I Recycle?
Simply place all your recyclables into your recycling bin or dedicated roll-out recycling cart including:
- Plastics 1-7
- Glass Containers
- Aluminum containers

- Plastic milk and detergent jugs

What time should I have my garbage out?
7 a.m. on the day of your scheduled collection.
What are your office hours?
Office hours are Monday – Thursday from 8:00am – 5:00pm and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where should I set my garbage & recycling containers? The garbage and recycling needs to be set out by the street and not obstructed by vehicles or other objects.
What do I do with paint & chemicals? GBUSA, Inc. can dispose of any paint cans that are either empty or in which the paint is completely hardened. Otherwise, paint and hazardous waste need to be taken to your local Hazardous Waste site.
Do you recycle electronics? We do pick up electronics (as trash) but are unable to transport them to a recycling center. The Foxhole Landfill located at 17131 Lancaster Highway, Charlotte, NC (located at Highway 521 right at the NC/SC State Line) will accept and recycle electronic items.
How often is recycling picked up? Residential recycling is picked up once every week on the same day as trash (collected on your first day of trash collection every week).
How is yard waste collected?
Yard waste is collected once weekly from March 1 through December 17 on Thursday. You must e-mail us (admin@gbusainc.com) or call our office ((704) 708-5872) to schedule yard waste collection. There is no charge for this service at this time. (Hunter Oaks and Somerset residents do not need to call.)
How should I prepare my yard waste? Yard waste consists of grass, leaves, trim clippings and small branches (less than 1" in diameter and less than 3' in length). You may place the items in a plastic bag or into a container for disposal. We do have some used trash containers available for purchase as dedicated yard waste containers.
Can I pay my bill on-line?
Yes, you can pay online here.
Do you take credit cards? Is there a fee? Which cards do you accept?
We proudly accept Visa and Master card for your convenience. There is no fee for this service.
What if I have extra garbage or need a special pickup?
Extra garbage and special pickups will be taken in reasonable quantities. Please call our office the day before trash service to schedule the extras and/or special pickup to be taken. Extras and special pickups may be left unless GBUSA has received a phone call granting permission to take them. Please call for scheduling.
How do we dispose of larger items such as freezers or refrigerators? Is there any charge?
Larger items will be picked up twice monthly on scheduled dates. At this time, there is not an additional cost.
What is your billing cycle?
Residential customers are billed quarterly in advance of services rendered payments are due on January 1; April 1; July 1; and, October 1).

How do I earn RecycleBank Points (Dollars)?
GBUSA conducts community based recycling. This means all customers who participate on a recycling day have their participation recorded by our truck and everyone's recycling is weighed and divided equally among all participating customers. This means you have a vested interest in what your neighbor and community recycle as a whole. The weight will be translated to RecycleBank Points.
How many RecycleBank points can I earn each month or year?
Households have the opportunity to earn a maximum of 450 points per month of 5,400 points per year.
How many points will I receive for each pound recycled?
The more you recycle, the more you can earn. Each household will receive 2.5 points per pound recycled plus regular earning opportunities from bonuses and promotions.
How can I use RecycleBank points?
The RecycleBank rewards program is fluid and dynamic. RecycleBank is constantly looking for new partners to create exciting and rich rewards program. We cannot guarantee that reward partners will participate in the program for an extended period of time. Please check our website frequently for reward opportunities. You are also welcome to call Customer Care at 888.727.2978 if you do not have access to the internet.
How can I order RecycleBank rewards?

What should I do if I have trouble accessing my account page online?

Will the rewards in the program change?
Yes. RecycleBank is constantly adding new businesses to better serve you and rewards are subject to change. Partners can also decide to discontinue rewards or will have limited time offers.
How long will it take for me to receive the rewards I ordered?
Rewards will arrive within 3 to 5 business days after your place your order.
What should I do if I do not receive my rewards within the 3 to 5 day timeframe?

Will my RecycleBank points expire?
Your RecycleBank points will accrue month to month for as long as you remain in the RecycleBank program. RecycleBank points expire only if there is no activity in a users account for over 6 months.
Do RecycleBank rewards expire?
Some rewards have expiration dates. Some rewards are offered on a limited time basis. This information can be found online (from your account page) or by calling Customer Care.
What do I do if I did not receive my credit? You can report any missed credits by contacting us from within your online account page, or you can call us at 1-888-727-2978.
What can I recycle? Acceptable items for recycling are labeled on your RecycleBank container. You can also find this information on our site. If you do not have access to the internet, Customer Care will mail you a printed list of acceptable items for the RecycleBank program.
What happens if I put items in my container that are not recyclable? Placing items that are not recyclable in your container can negatively affect your RecycleBank account and can jeopardize the program for your neighbors.
